AFC told that Bangladesh started well after the barren first half when Jahin Hasan Ameli’s header gave them the lead in the 63rd minute but two late goals by Roman Kornilov and Ruslan Sydykov sealed the fate of the South Asians. Anyway, we won this game!!!

AFC told, that lowly Afghanistan held 10-man Bangladesh to a goalless draw in the AFC Challenge Cup Group C qualifier at the Spartak Stadium today. I was there and made some photos in spite of it raining cats and dogs! Enjoy.

Bakiev met Kulov

The President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiev held a meeting with Felix Kulov, leader of the opposition party “Ar-Namys” to discuss a critical situation in the energy sector of the Kyrgyz economy.

Felix Kulov spoke about the specific methods of attracting German investments for the building of small and medium hydroelectric power stations.

As is well known, Felix Kulov sent an agenda to Kurmanbek Bakiev where he wrote of a vision detailing a way out of the current energy crisis.

“I have sensible suggestions about the development of small and medium energy [resources] of the republic”, told Felix Kulov during the meeting.

The President supported this suggestion and observed that such initiatives were deserving of state attention.

“I stressed our energy potential at the conference of Ak-Zhol party yesterday. We have great possibilities to develop small hydroelectric power stations. The hydroelectric power stations can be built locally, don’t need large sums [of money] and they are able to solve the questions with systematic supply of energy. Besides, the tariffs would be acceptable”, told Bakiev.

As a result of the meeting, Kurmanbek Bakiev entrusted the President Administration to make a plan for the realization of this suggestion and prepare a resolution for the projects.

Jazz Festival in Bishkek Finished

“Iron Flight” Opened the Season

Gold of Ancient Kyrgyzstan

An exhibition “Gold of Ancient Kyrgyzstan” has been opened today at the Historial State Museum. There is a large unique collection of ancient gold, found on the territory of modern Kyrgyzstan.

A New Threat to Kyrgyz-Russian Relationships

Kyrgyz parliament approved the project of the resolution about an establishment of a Memorial Day for victims of the tragic events of 1916 . It is supposed that the Memorial Day will be held yearly on the first Friday of August.

“This day is necessary to restore historical justice regarding the victims of the tragic events of 1916, to express respect to our ancestor’s memory and for the upbringing of the next generation”, it was stated in the project resolution.

According to the resolution, there will be an ethnographical center in Boom Pass. Also, a group of scientist will be formed to further investigate the events of 1916. New manuals about the events in 1916 will be published in both the Kyrgyz and Russian language.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs supposed that such date could influence negatively on the bilateral relations between Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
