Victory’s Day in Kyrgyzstan

There has been a short requiem meeting at the Victory’s Square today. Our President Kurmanbek Bakiev congratulated our war veterans on Victory’s day and wished them strong health, peace sky and happiness. Here are some pictures.

An international jazz festival “Jazz Bishkek Spring” finished yesterday in Bishkek. I present photographs from the second and third days of the festival. Top-down: the Kyrgyz group “Aura”, a singer Aidai, the Uzbek group “Artsah”, Saadet Turkez and Nils Vogram, the Tajic group “Mizrob”.

Moto-bike club “Iron Flight” opened the season on Saturday, near the rock-club “Zeppelin”. About 150 participants passed through Bishkek escorted by police.

Gold of Ancient Kyrgyzstan

An exhibition “Gold of Ancient Kyrgyzstan” has been opened today at the Historial State Museum. There is a large unique collection of ancient gold, found on the territory of modern Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz-Russian relationships can be darkened by the recent April 20th incident in Kant, location of the Russian airbase.
A 24-year Russian citizen, Maksim Zotov, was seriously wounded by the Kyrgyz militia officials. Mr. Zotov serves as deputy chief of the Russian airbase financial department.

Opposition Convention Held and Resolution Accepted

The opposition held a convention on 12th April in the Sport Palace in Bishkek.
1474 officially registered delegates from all regions of Kyrgyzstan took part in the convention. There were no provocations or public disturbances during the convention. There also were not any high-ranking officials present.
