June 14 Is Declared As Mourning Day in Kyrgyzstan
President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiev has signed a decree about declaring June 14, 2008 as the mourning day in Kyrgyzstan in connection with the death of Chingiz Aitmatov Torokulovich, the people’s writer of Kyrgyzstan, and organizing his funerals, news agency “Kabar” reported.
The people’s writer of Kyrgyzstan, Hero of the Socialistic Labor, laureate of Lenin and USSR State Prizes, Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aitmatov Torokulovich died on June 10, 2008.
Chingiz Aitmatov always remains in the memory of the whole people of Kyrgyzstan as great writer, thinker, thanks to whom the world knew about Kyrgyzstan and Kyrgyz people, its culture and customs.
The head of state decrees:
1.To declare June 14, 2008 the mourning day in Kyrgyzstan.
2.To lower the state flag of Kyrgyzstan on the mourning day.
3.To recommend the cultural institutions and TV/Radio Broadcasting Companies to cancel entertainment programs, events and telecasts on the mourning day.
4.To organize a state commission on ogranizing funerals of Aitmatov Chingiz Torokulovich.
5.To organize a ceremony of civil funeral of Chingiz Aitmatov on June 14, 2008 at 9 o’clock in the T.Satylganov Kyrgyz National Philharmonic Society and bury him at Ata-Beyit Memorial Museum Complex.
6.Bishkek Mayor’s Office should assist in the state commission on organizing the funerals of Chingiz Aitmatov.
7.The National Guards of Kyrgyzstan should post a guard of honor at T.Satylganov Kyrgyz National Philharmonic Society and Ata-Beyit Memorial Museum Complex.
8.The National TV/Radio Broadcasting Corporation should organize a direct transmission of the funeral ceremony.
9.The ministry of foreign affairs of Kyrgyzstan should inform the foreign states about funeral ceremony of Chingiz Aitmatov.
