During the press-conference at AKIpress Azimbek Beknazarov, leader of the party “National Revival” said that Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiev failed to meet people’s expectations and hopes after the 24 March 2005 revolution. In order to make the President resign, the revolution committee has been established in Kyrgyzstan which would act in a very radical manner. According to Beknazarov, the people of Kyrgyzstan very soon will witness political protests, rallies and campaigns of a big scale.

Azimbek Beknazarov did not give any further details with regard to the list of its members, location of its office. He is going to disclose this information very soon. The committee was created in the early 2008 and it acts in support of the movement “For Justice” and they plan to advocate their ideas through a joint action.

The leader of the party reminded of the promises given by the President in March, 2005. These promises were:

1. Not to assign family members and relatives as key state officials like this was done by previous President Askar Akaev. Bakiev failed to bring into action his promise.

2. To return all wealth stolen by previous presidency and his family to people and punish those who have stolen public wealth.

About100 criminal cases were opened in connection with this and most of them are suspended today. Some of them were found innocent, while others govern the state and serve as ministers. Parliament of the country did not allow privatizing energy sector, selling gas and other natural resources for 10 years. Unfortunately, today they are being sold to foreign investors. Ak Zhol intends to ratify agreements on assignment of a number of hotels to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

3. Implementation of constitutional reform

During three years we have signed three constitutions. The latest consitution was allegedly supported by people at the referendum, but in fact this is the constitution adopted personally by you, it is the king’s constitution in essence. In this you have outdone Akaev to a great extent.

Since none of the people’s demands were implemented, the revolution committee was set up that will realize revolution ideas and pre-term resignation of the President, concluded Beknazarov.
