10 Kyrgyz students to attend SCO youth camp
The press-service of Ministry of Education and Science reported to AKIpress correspondent that the Minister of Education and Science of Ishengul Boljurova met with Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yannian, during which China has invited 10 students from Kyrgyzstan to attend 10-day Shanghai Cooperation Youth Camp. They have also discussed the possibility to establish Confucius Institute at two largest universities of Kyrgyzstan - Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn and Bishkek Humanities University.
During the SCO summit back in August 2007, heads of states of SCO countries-members agreed on providing special scholarships to students of SCO countries. This allows 20 students from Kyrgyzstan live and study at Chinese universities.
The relationship between China and Kyrgyzstan have been lately developing in a very positive direction in temrs of economic, social and cultural sectors. Chinese and Kyrgyz governments have found many common grounds on which the interests and mutual benefit is increasing. The Minister of Education and Science expressed the readiness for a close, profitable and constructive cooperation with China and wanted to explore China’s experience in the sphere of higher education, in particular, transition to 12 year-school education, inviting scholars-Nobel prize winners from other countries to teach students in Kyrgyzstan.

12 year-school education has many disadvantages for us… Why? Our edu-system cannot manage properly with 11 years, how come it will be successful with 12-year one? There are many children to whom 12th year is unnecessary, because they are too smart
As for Noble prize winners, it’s a nice idea…
