Prime Minister dismissed
The political life of Kyrgyzstan of the last several months does not stop surprising us. Key political figures continue shaping the way things develop around the state house, parliament and political parties. With weather becoming cold, political life is becoming hot. Recent developments are so rapid that people do not know what to expect from our politicians next. One of the examples of hot season and unexpectedness is the dismissal of the Prime Minister Almazbek Atambaev after the working session of the Kyrgyz government that took place yesterday. As Central Asian News reports, the President explained his decision saying that Atambaev’s work has done and after some rest he will be back in public service. According to AKIpress correspondent, the President said the following:
Assumption of PM’s duties by Almazbek Atambaev and his work in this capacity has become a remarkable and unique event in the history of our government. I think that Almazbek Sharshenovich will confirm that our work was rather fruitful regardless different views on a number of issues. I was never afraid of other people’s opinions different from mine. On the contrary, I think that there will be neither success, nor development without account of different approaches.
Overall, the President is pleased with the performance of Atambaev and gave high credits to the work he has done during his tenure. He also noted that under Atambaev’s management there were some positive changes in the country such as figures of economic growth and resolved social problems.
To remind readers, Almazbek Atambaev has served as the prime minister for eight months only. Before coming to this post, he used to be one of the strongest opposition leaders and was against the policies the government was implementing. Now, after the dismissal, he thanked the president for acknowledging his work and positive results it brought. He is now going to help the Social Democratic party members to get prepared for the upcoming parliamentary elections on the 16 December.
