Sergey Bodrov Senior, a famous Russian film director, visited Kyrgyzstan for the presentation of his movie “Mongol”, which took place in newly restored movie theatre “Ala-Too” on October 19, says 24.kg. Bodrov said that he was happy to visit Kyrgyzstan again, and he would love to make joint projects with Kyrgyz movie makers in future. Also Bodrov noted that there were a few promising young directors in Kyrgyzstan and they would make the future of cinema. The Kyrgyz stunts and camera men helped in making “Mongol”, a joint movie project of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Germany. The premiere was shown couple of days earlier than in Europe.

The number of restored movie theaters in Kyrgyzstan is gradually growing, mostly due to the Cinematika Ltd. It already owns two other movie theaters, Red October, and in Vefa Ramstor trade center. The Ala-Too, newly opened movie theater, is located in the center of the Bishkek, not far from the White House, and along Erkindik prospekt. Before restoration, it was in a pretty bad condition, which was showing pirate movies from various media, like VHS, or DVD. Hopefully, after its rebirth, the adjacent territory would improve soon.
