Interview with Kloop on the homebase

Just in case any readers have come directly to the Kyrgyzstan blog and missed it, Ben has posted an interview with Bektour Iskender, cofounder of Kloop, a web portal project based in Kyrgyzstan that has a news section and a blog platform. Read the full interview and find out about Iskender’s plans to expand Kloop’s coverage both geographically and linguistically.

Also worth checking out for Russian-speakers/readers is Bektour’s personal blog, Nichego osobennogo (Nothing in particular), which recently included a post on a double decker bus in Bishkek, complete with photos. Unfortunately, as he points out, this isn’t the start of a new form of transport in Bishkek. Rather, it’s part of an advertising campaign for a tobacco company.

All the same, I’m still curious as to how exactly one gets a double decker bus to Bishkek from anywhere, let alone the UK.

I was thinking the same - who the heck drove this massive vehicle all the way to Bishkek!?! Maybe Bektour can answer this…
