11 April, the Day of Peaceful, Constitutional Transfer of Power (F. Kulov)
This is a translation of Mirsulzhan’s post, who is reporting directly from the protests in Bishkek.
The day has come. I am scared, not for myself, but for my country. I hope everything will be all right, and that there will be no “coup”. If the regime changes today, it will NOT be a revolution, but a COUP.
I am on the square right now, I want to see the people who came here, most attracted by the money. I will look at the leaders of the opposition, who just want power. Those in opposition, who have nothing but their selfish ambitions.
I will also look at the “Power”, how they are waking up from their sleep, and, feeling the threat, they will try not to lose their seats in leather chair(s).
12:50 11 April
Around 300 people gathered on the Central square. Many sit on the grass, destroying the lawns. Looking at them, it is hard to say that they can pursue ideas, they are simply “bought”, most likely.
About 50 people, strange and unknown, came out on the main street Chu. I recognised one - he is one of the hunger strikers from the old square. The rest are there, walking, wandering along the street, started shouting “Bakiev ketsin” already.
