Kulov is LITE … and ICY!
Everyone in Kyrgyzstan along with great number of people from neighboring countries knows that Kulov is a family name of Felix Sharshenbaevich Kulov, former prime-minister of Kyrgyzstan. But have you ever heard that “Kulov” is also a brand of Vodka produced in United Kingdom. Vodka “Kulov” has been produced since 1960’s. Brand “Kulov Ice Lite” has been produced since 2001 in the Iver House, a distiller in Aidrie, UK . “Kulov Ice Lite” is a reduced-calorie vodka aimed at young women.
As Margaret Mary Timpson, brand manager, says:
Research showed there was demand for a reduced calorie version. It’s an ideal option for the growing number of drinkers and clubbers who are keen to watch their waistlines.
“Kulov” is well known not only in the local market of UK, but also in countries like Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Trinidad, Lebanon, Dominican Republic, Cyprus and Malta. So Kulov was not only a number-two statesman of Kyrgyzstan, but also number-two selling Vodka in Northern Ireland.
